Bursledon Surgery Update
Thursday 29th July 2021
Please see the important joint survey request from our CCG (NHS Hampshire, Southampton and Isle of Wight CCG) below regarding the exciting future of Bursledon Surgery and the provisions of healthcare services within our local area. This survey has been constructed between the CCG, the practices and the local council.
All Bursledon Surgery and Blackthorn Health Centre patients over 16 will receive an SMS message / letter over the next week or so inviting you to participate in this important survey.
We would be grateful that any thoughts regarding this proposal be feedback to NHS Hampshire, Southampton and Isle of Wight CCG via the survey linked below.
We want to hear from local patients about a proposal to merge Bursledon Surgery with Blackthorn Health Centre.
Under this proposal, all GP services for patients of both practices will continue to be provided exclusively from Blackthorn Health Centre. The proposal intends to create a single practice for all patients on the local peninsula to deliver high quality continuing care.
If the proposal is accepted, it means that the Lowford Centre surgery site would be used as a base for local people to see a number of other healthcare professionals on weekdays. In addition, the local “Hub”, managed by our federation (Eastleigh Southern Parishes Network Ltd.) would also relocate to the Lowford Centre surgery site. This would enable more local access to GPs, Nurses and other healthcare staff in the evenings, at weekends and bank holidays for the local community.
For more information, please see the letter below from NHS Hampshire, Southampton and Isle of Wight CCG.
